Hall of Fame Dinner Overview

The Nashville Public Schools Hall of Fame recognizes accomplished Nashville Metropolitan Public School graduates who have had an impact on society through demonstrated leadership and professional achievement. Additionally, a Distinguished Service Award is given to an accomplished individual who is not a graduate of the MNPS system, but has provided distinguished service to influence public school excellence.

The Nashville Alliance is pleased to announce the 2010 honorees:

Distinguished Service Award
Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Executive Officer,
multi-award winning country music singer-songwriter
Kix Brooks, multi-award winning country music singer-songwriter

Distinguished Alumni Award
Keith Churchwell, M.D., nationally renowned cardiologist, McGavock High School
Richard Fulton, former mayor of Nashville, East High School
R. Milton Johnson, Executive Vice President and CFO of HCA, Stratford High School
Walter Knestrick, recognized leader in commercial construction, Hillsboro High School

The Nashville Public Schools Hall of Fame is a important fundraiser for the Nashville Alliance because is the main way in which the Alliance gains operational funding for the because 100 percent of all other contributions are directly invested in student achievement.
